Liquified the layout
October 22, 2007 |
I got tired of the new background image really fast so I went back to good ol’ solid navy blue. I also decided to change the layout from ‘fixed’ to liquid’.
I made a really quick job of it. I only edited a few CSS selectors to percentages instead of pixels. I hope I didn’t overlook anything when I made the switch. Let me know if anything looks really screwy.
P.S. I hope you like the new graphic at the top for the MyBlogLog contest. I had meant to redo it as another free MyBlogLog badge but I forgot to save the PSD. Oopsy.

IMHO, the theme could use a few curves - it looks too abrupt at the ends…of course - just a personal opinion!

I am a keen advocate of 100% width fluid layouts.
The only issue i have found time and time again is image placing.
If the webmin has a CMS system to create a news page, then positioning the picture and trying not to just fill it with white space means floating, and floating other images things can easily go wrong.

Hey, I really like the blog but I have to say I am not a fan of Liquid layouts.
There is lots of research to show that wide columns of text cause eye strain and for the increasing number of users on widescreen monitors (inclusing me) it can cause real problems.
Fixed width layouts give you much more control over the position of everything on the page so I’ve always found them preferable.
Disclaimer: All IMHO of course
