		<description>Flash is good for looks but for crawlers it is hard because all the code is embedded on top of each other and so it can only see part of the site. Load times are definitely affected if the whole site is flash. Flash headers load fast but still allow crawlers to crawl the site.</description>

Essentially if flash were a marginal technology that few could implement it would not have been so horrenduously over used and we would not be tired of it.

Instead a bunch of 'designers' picked up and got good with Macromedia Fireworks or similar and we ended up with whole sites of Flash.

Used selectively and with sense it is a useful way of putting some eye-candy in.  Otherwise I would restrict it solely to playing vids...</description>
