Appreciation Post: Trailer Park Boys
April 27, 2007 |
Posted by Ryan Edmunds on 12:17 AM, Friday April 27 I have to give kudos to The Trailer Park Boys. Not only is it a consistently funny and original show, but it has great references to Canadiana; Especially when it comes to music.
There have been numerous references to Rush on the show and one time Kitchener, Ontario’s beloved Helix was mentioned. They one better with the soundtrack of the movie featuring Canadian acts as The Tragically Hip, Swollen Members, Alexisonfire, Platinum Blonde and The Tea Party. The soundtrack dips in to Canada’s indie scene with a track by Halifax’s Wintersleep
The film also featured cameos by the Hip’s Gord Downie and Hugh Dillon of the Headstones.
For all of this and for the dead-on awesome dialog and everything else great about the show, the Trailor Park Boys will continue to make it way into my late night viewing.
